Every Oregonian should have a decent and stable home that they can afford, but this opportunity is more at risk than ever. The 2016 legislative session is our chance to help make homes a reality for all Oregonians.
Housing opportunity is a top priority at the legislature, and the Housing Relief Act (HB 4001) is scheduled for the very first day of session. Here’s how you can help advance housing opportunity in Oregon
Step 1: Show up in person to Monday’s hearing in Salem!
A big turnout will make a big statement during a very busy legislative session. The hearing is scheduled for this Monday, Feb. 1 from 3:00 to 4:30 in Hearing Room D in the Capitol on the main floor. Parking will be scarce, so allow yourself time to park (more information here).
Senate Bill 1533 on inclusionary zoning is also scheduled for a hearing on Monday at 1:00 before the Senate Committee on Early Childhood and Human Services in Hearing Room C. We encourage you to attend both hearings.
You can learn more about these policy proposals on the 2016 Housing Alliance Agenda page.
Step 2: Submit written testimony for Monday’s hearings
You can fill out an online form to submit your testimony quickly and easily. Please take just a moment to send it now: TESTIMONY MUST BE SUBMITTED BY FEB. 1 AT 3PM.
Step 3: Be social for housing opportunity
